This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that I personally precision cut on my lapidary equipment

 0.88 carats
5.8mm in diameter, 5.3mm in width, and 3.3mm in depth
• Cut in my own fantasy octagon design
• Untreated/unheated
• Naturally occurring
• Sapphire/Corundum

• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) with a dominant violetish Blue hue, a medium/medium-light tone & moderately strong saturation.  Some inclusions are visible, see the microscopy report below for details. This is an open-tone sapphire, it will glow and sparkle in any light. Indoors it has a more dominant violet/purple appearance, in daylight, it has a more dominant blue appearance.

Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a blue sky with the sun near the horizon, additional videos were taken indoors in passive lighting, under my overhead led lights, and by a window.  Please review all the videos thoroughly.

I took some cover photos in my lightbox, you can see a slight color shift between purple and blue under cool and soft white lighting.

Gemstone Rough Country of Origin: Umba Valley in Tanzania
Cutter: Sennin

• Microscopy Report:
This gem features a range of inclusions. The first and most notable is the rutile silk sprinkled through the gem (photos 1 & 2). The crisp nature of these inclusions is an indicator that the sapphire has not undergone heat treatment to enhance its color or clarity. This cluster of silk also features some very small negative crystals, although I wasn't able to give an exact ID, I believe many of them were clear zircon crystals. The next is what I think are apatite crystals (determined by the distinct shape), these are visible in all of the photos as the larger white/clear crystals. A few of these crystals surface on the crown of the gem, depicted in photo 4.  This gem has multiple very small subsurface healed fractures, although difficult to focus on as they were so small, they were worth noting. These can be viewed in photo 6 as little rainbow spots.  Finally, I was able to capture a crisp twinning plane in photos 5 & 7, this appears as a crisp slightly angled vertical line going through the gem, most sapphires have this feature, however, it can be challenging to photograph.  I used the Photo Atlas of Inclusions volumes 1 & 3 by EJ Gübelin and JI Koivula for visual reference.
