This is classic example of an unheated tanzanite. Both yellow and lilac are dominantly visible in this gem. Under artificial light I can see lilac, yellow and violet but in most lighting scenarios you will dominantly see lilac with a hint of yellow. The earthy lilac and yellow hues are a classic indicator that this piece has not undergone enhancing heat treatment. Heat typically bakes the yellows and lilacs right out of the piece and leaves with an electric blue or bluish violet hue. At 1 carat its nicely sized gem for a ring. Its clean and ultra sparkly, this is an ideal piece for your jewelry project or as an addition to your collection.
