This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that I personally precision faceted on my custom-made lapidary equipment

• 0.5 carats
• 8.1mm in length, 2.9mm in width and 2.2mm in depth
• Cut in my own hexagonal rupee design
• Unheated/untreated
• Naturally occurring corundum (sapphire)

Detailed Gem Description:

A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) with a purple to violetish Purple hue depending on the light source. It has a medium light tone and very slightly grayish to moderately strong saturation.  Some Inclusions typical of sapphire from this locality can be observed under magnification, see the microscopy report for details.  This is an open-tone sapphire, it will glow and sparkle in any lighting!

See the last four photos for reference on how I graded these. To maintain originality, I personally made the reference graphics with gems of my own design but it is based on GIA's color description system.

Photos were taken in daylight exclusively. Videos were taken outdoors under a blue sky with the sun overhead, additional videos were taken indoors in passive lighting, under my overhead led lights, and by a window.  Please review all the videos thoroughly

Gemstone Rough Country of Origin: Umba Valley in Tanzania
Cutter: Sennin

• Microscopy Report:
This gem features what are called Rose Channels. What look like needles are long hollow channels. They are visible without magnification and a few of them noticeably surface on the crown of the gem. Some of them are accompanied by small fractures. See the reference photo for details (4x, darkfield).

• If you would like this gem for a custom jewelry project, you can reserve it directly from this listing, follow up with the details for your custom project, or purchase it bundled with a pre-priced setting.

• A GIA lab report can be ordered for your purchase, see the "GIA laboratory report listing" for details
