• 7mm in length, 5.6.mm in width, and 4.5mm in depth
• Cut in my bespoke Esko Universe Cut ™ pattern, this stone features a symmetrical octagonal shape
• Uncut gem sourced from Malawi
• Unheated/untreated
• If you look closely you can spot some inclusions without magnification (if you know what to look for), but it borders Eye clean.
• Medium light tone (This is a brilliant open-toned sapphire!)

This is the Crème de la crème of untreated sapphires. A stunning hue with a highly sought-after open tone. In direct sunlight, it turns into an electric sky blue. This was one of those sapphires that reminded me why I don't accept custom gem orders. I would have sworn I could have gotten 2.5-3 carats out of the uncut gem. But it didn't work out that way when I opened it up and started working on it. If you had commissioned this, you might have been disappointed with the final yield. That doesn't change what I paid for the uncut gem though. Just a reminder, custom gem orders won't turn out as expected more than 75% of the time.
