This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that I personally precision cut on my lapidary equipment
• 1.24carats
• 7.1mm in length, 6mm in width, and 3.8mm in depth (low profile)
• Cut in my own fantasy hexagon design
• Untreated
• Naturally occurring
• Corundum (sapphire)
• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) that has a dominant bluish-green hue, a secondary yellow hue, a medium tone, and moderately strong saturation. The color split is visible in all lighting. This gem leans towards a more green hue indoors under my led desk lamps. This is an open-tone gem, it will glow and sparkle in any light! This is an exceptionally clean sapphire for material from this locality. It faces up eye clean, this is a gleaming gem!
• Microscopy Report:
This gem features a select few inclusions that are typical of corundum from Garba Tula. Most notable are the elongated rutile needles (photo 1). It also has a fluid-filled feather on the edge (photos 2 & 3). The feather is positioned in a way that it is not visible face-up without magnification. The crisp nature of the rutile inclusions is an indicator that this sapphire has not undergone any treatment to improve its color or clarity. I used the Photoatlas of Inclusions volume 1 by EJ Gübelin and JI Koivula for reference.
Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a partly cloudy sky with no sunlight present, additional videos were taken indoors under my overhead led lights.
Gemstone Rough Country of Origin: Garba Tula, Kenya
Cutter: Sennin
