This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that my student precision cut on her lapidary equipment
• 1.5 carats
• 7.8mm in length, 5.8mm in width, and 4.4 mm in depth
• Cut in my own fantasy hexagonal design
• Heat treated
• Naturally occurring
• Sapphire/Corundum
• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural corundum with a strongly yellowish Green hue, a medium/medium dark tone, and slightly brownish saturation. Inclusions typical of corundum from this locale are visible under magnification. This sapphire leans towards a deeper tone but it is by no means opaque, it will glow and sparkle in most lighting!
Photos were taken in my lightbox exclusively. Videos were taken outdoors under a blue sky with the sun overhead, additional videos were taken indoors in passive lighting, under my overhead led lights, and by a window. Please review all the videos thoroughly.
Gemstone Rough Country of Origin: Kenya
My student Leah Acosta faceted this gem in her workshop in Eagle Nest, New Mexico!
• Microscopy Report:
This sapphire features some inclusions typical of corundum from Garba Tula. Hematite & ilmenite silk is visible throughout and multiple rose channels are visible under magnification. Low-temperature heat treatment was applied to this sapphire.
