• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural and untreated corundum with a split green/blue hue. It has a medium dark to dark tone and strong saturation. It is eye clean, some inclusions typical of sapphire from this locality can be viewed under magnification. This is an inky blue/green sapphire, without direct light it has a moody deeper tone.
- You can expect a deep green/blue gem with electric flashes of each as it catches the light. You are still able to see the body of the gem without direct light. Indoors it usually has a dominant green hue with a secondary blue hue. In daylight, it has a dominant blue with a secondary green hue. In most indoor lighting you can expect a borderline opaque dark blue/green gem with electric flashes of blue/green as it catches the light. Under a direct light or in daylight the body of the gem opens up nicely.
Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a blue sky with the sun near the horizon, additional videos were taken indoors in passive lighting, under my overhead led lights, and by a window. Please review all the videos thoroughly.

• Microscopy Report:
This gem features three types of inclusions. The first and most notable is the ilmenite silk sprinkled through half of the gem (photos 1-4). Although invisible without a microscope the crisp nature of these inclusions is an indicator that the sapphire has not undergone heat treatment to enhance its color or clarity. The next are elongated needles (I suspect rutile) that span the gem. These are visible in photo 3 and dominantly depicted in photo 5. And finally, there were two partially healed fractures, one reaches the surface of the crown. The one on the crown is depicted in photo 6, and in photo 1 you can see where it surfaces on the top right side of the gem. I used the Photo Atlas of Inclusions volumes 1 & 3 by EJ Gübelin and JI Koivula for visual reference.
