This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that I personally precision cut on my lapidary equipment
• 1.69carats •8.1mm in length,7mm in width and 4.1mm in depth (low profile) • Cut in my own fantasy kite design • Untreated • Naturally occurring • Corundum (sapphire)
• Detailed Gem Description: A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) that has a dominant yellow hue, with green undertones indoors and a hint of blue in daylight. It has a light tone and very slightly grayish saturation. Inclusions are visible. Multiple photomicrographs of this specific gem under magnification are included for reference with oblique illumination.
Photomicrograph Report: This gem features many typical inclusions of corundum from the Umba Valley in Tanzania. Most notably are the crisp rutile needles and what I believe is an apatite inclusion. The crisp nature of these inclusions is an indicator that this sapphire has not undergone any treatment to improve its color or clarity. It also has many small negative crystals, fluid filled fingerprint inclusions and partially and fully healed halos. I used the Photoatlas of Inclusions volume 1 by EJ Gubelin and JI Koivula for reference. I hope you enjoy the photos!
Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a partly cloudy sky with the sun peeking through the clouds near the horizon, additional videos were taken indoors under my overhead led lights.
