• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) with a dominant slightly greenish-yellow hue. It has mixed tonal zones, the yellow/green is a light tone where the blue areas are a medium/medium dark tone. It has moderately strong saturation. Inclusions are present, see the microscopy report for details. This is an open-tone gem, it will glow and sparkle in any light!
Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a partly cloudy sky with the sun peeking through the clouds, additional videos were taken indoors in passive light, under my overhead led lights, and by a window.

• Microscopy Report:
This gem has three types of inclusions visible under the microscope. Photo 1 depicts the rutile silk inclusions that give the gem a bluish hue and an opalescent appearance. Photo 2 depicts what I think is a black rutile inclusion. Photo 3 is a fluid filled inclusion off to the edge of the gem. This gem has no evidence of heat treatment to enhance its color or clarity, the crisp nature of the rutile silk inclusions is the primary indicator that it hasn't been treated. The opalescent appearance caused by the rutile silk is a very classic trait of sapphires from Nigeria. I used the Photo Atlas of Inclusions volume 3 by EJ Gübelin and JI Koivula for visual reference.
